Allie Bradley Sings ‘One Way’ at the Building Pictures EP Launch in The Cellar Bar Draperstown. Oct 2010 Singer/songwriter Allie Bradley began singing and playing guitar at age eight. “My dad bought me my first six string and my cousin taught me four chords and that was it. I was hooked.” From there, she was determined to teach herself to play guitar and write her own songs. Through her teenage years, she performed as a solo singer competing in Irish Traditional singing competitions. Having grown up in a musical family, Allie sang both as a solo performer and also as a member of a ballad who went on to represent Derry in an All Ireland Singing competition. After winning the All Ireland Scor Na nOg in 2003 for solo singing Allie began writing and performing her own music, heavily influenced by the traditional music she listened to growing up but also more contemporary artists such as Jeff Buckley, Alanis Morrisette, Lauryn Hill and John Mayer to name but a few. Allie continued to compose perform and record all her work at home from an early age using whatever was at hand (usually a tape recorder!). In 2009 Allie met fellow singer songwriter & labelmate Aaron Shanely and began to collaborate with him on some of his recordings. This meeting inspired Allie to realise the time was right to take the songs written in the bedroom and move to the next phase.
